Cook, ethnic foods (Serbian/Balkan)

Working conditions: Salary $36.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, full time, regular, permanent.

Requirements: diploma, certificate or courses in cooking or related culinary arts, 5 years of experience, knowledge, skills and experience in ethnic Serbian/Balkan cooking, able to work in fast – paced environment, attention to detail, personal suitability: dependability, organized, reliability, team player.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods in accordance with traditional Serbian/Balkan recipes such as ?evapi (grilled minced meat), pljeskavica (Serbian burger), sarma (stuffed cabbage rolls), gibanica (cheese and egg pie), Serbian barbeque, stews,  gulash, pasulj (bean soup), podvarak (cabbage meal),  stuffed peppers, etc. plan menus, prepare special orders, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirement, monitor supplies, inspect kitchens and food service areas, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, clean kitchen and work areas, organize and manage buffets and banquets, manage kitchen operations, ensure the proper storage and refrigeration, keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products, ensure that the quality of products meets established standards,  follow up hygiene and safety procedures.
