About the Role

NK Construction Ltd. is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of construction and renovation projects, handling everything from basic framing to finishing work. This position is suited for someone comfortable reading construction plans, using measurement tools, and completing hands-on building tasks.

Main Responsibilities

• Review building plans, sketches, and construction drawings to understand what needs to be built and how
• Mark layouts and measurements on materials and surfaces, ensuring they follow building standards and local codes
• Cut, shape, and join wood, engineered products, light steel framing, and other materials needed for the project
• Construct essential building components such as basic foundations, floor structures, subfloors, wall frames, and roof sections
• Install items such as doors, windows, stairs, trim pieces, and related hardware with accuracy
• Provide guidance to apprentices on work methods and proper tool use
• Oversee helpers or other team members when assigned by the supervisor
• Estimate the quantity of materials and basic costs needed for smaller tasks or portions of a project
• Carry out repairs, upgrades, and general improvements on homes and wooden structures found in commercial or industrial settings, such as plants, mills, hospitals, and similar facilities

Skills & Qualifications

• Secondary school education (high school diploma) is required
• 7 months to less than 1 year of hands-on experience in carpentry or related work is required
