CEFA Surrey-Nordel was established in 1998 and is Canada’s leading, most sophisticated private Early Learning center for children ages 1 to 5. We are now seeking two highly qualified and motivated Early Childhood Educator.

 

 

Job Description:


Position: Early Childhood Educator

Vacancy: 2
Wage: C$ 24.00 / Hour

Working Hours: 40 hours/week
Terms of Employment:  Full-time, Permanent
Vacation Pay: 2 weeks annual vacation paid at a rate of 4% of the total wages earned in that 12-month period
Work Location: 8820 120th St. suite 200, Surrey, BC, V3V 0C9

 


Job Duties:

  • Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate learning activities and early childhood programs that support children’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Create engaging play-based learning environments that encourage creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and independence.
  • Observe and assess children’s development, behavior, and well-being, and communicate progress or any concerns with parents on a regular basis.
  • Guide children in developing positive behavior, self-regulation, social skills, and self-confidence through supportive and respectful interactions.
  • Maintain open, professional, and collaborative communication with parents, colleagues, and other team members.
  • Document and maintain accurate records, including attendance, daily reports, and developmental observations of children.
  • Update children’s health information and promptly report any accidents, injuries, or illnesses to the manager, and complete required incident documentation.
  • Attend to children’s physical care needs when necessary, including toileting, diapering, meals, and rest periods, while promoting self-help skills and independence.
  • Establish and maintain a clean, healthy, inclusive, and safe learning environment that meets licensing and health standards.
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and active participation in both structured and free-play activities.

 

 

Requirements:

 

Education: Completion of a two- to four-year college program in early childhood education or a bachelor's degree in child development is required.

Experience: 6 months experience in childcare is required

Credential: Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate is required. Infant and Toddler Educator (ITE) Certificate is an asset.

Language: English
