Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $25.00 per hour. A bonus may be paid from time-to-time, at the sole discretion of the employer.

 

Vacation:                     14 days paid vacation days

 

Language required:     English, spoken and written

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

  • Supervise and care for children in parents residence
  • Bathe, dress, and feed infant children
  • Prepare formulas and change diapers for children
  • Plan, prepare and serve meals for children
  • Perform other children-related housekeeping duties (e.g., tidying play spaces)
  • Oversee children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by parents
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development
  • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
  • Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings
  • Take children to and from planned activities and appointments
  • May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the children

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • High school diploma/completion of secondary school
  • Completion of a program in childcare or a related field
  • Minimum 12 months of experience (full-time or equivalent) as an infant caregiver in a private household
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work
  • First aid certification and CPR training
