Boom Truck Crane Operator – Nursery & Field Operations Uxbridge, ON (travel across Ontario) Full-Time | Permanent

Uxbridge Nurseries is hiring a Boom Truck Crane Operator to support the transport, lifting, and placement of live nursery stock including large trees, shrubs, and oversized root balls. This role combines skilled crane operation, truck driving, and coordination with farm and yard teams to ensure safe and timely delivery to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate boom truck–mounted cranes to load, unload, and place live plant material
• Deliver and pick up nursery stock from farms, yard locations, and customer sites
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks
• Secure loads according to current provincial and federal standards
• Perform pre-lift safety assessments based on site conditions
• Maintain driver paperwork and electronic logs (E-logs)
• Operate and relocate farm and nursery equipment between field locations, yard areas, and the maintenance shop as required
• Represent the company professionally at customer sites
• Assist with nursery operations when not on delivery
• Work extended hours during peak seasonal periods

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating boom truck–mounted cranes or similar heavy equipment
• Certified 0–8 ton boom truck crane operator (Ontario MOL compliant)
• Experience with crane-assisted loading and unloading
• Valid AZ truck driving license and experience
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible and extended hours during peak seasons
• Mechanical knowledge is an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
