Job requirements

Education

No degree, certificate or diploma

Job Duties

 

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods, especially ethnic Thai food
  • Preparation of sautéed items and their sauces
  • Preparation of fish, meat and poultry dishes, butchering these and preparation of appropriate sauces
  • Preparation of roasted and braised meats
  • Grilling and frying foods
  • Preparation of hot appetisers, noodles, soups and vegetables
  • Preparation of cold dishes
  • Supervise kitchen helpers
  • Overseeing subordinate personnel in the preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Helping the executive chef or executive sous chef, or the owner in planning menus,
  • Determining the size of food portions, estimating food requirements, and

costs and monitoring of the supplies inventory

  • Ensuring the quality of food
  • Clean kitchen and work area
