Education
No degree, certificate or diploma
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods, especially ethnic Thai food
- Preparation of sautéed items and their sauces
- Preparation of fish, meat and poultry dishes, butchering these and preparation of appropriate sauces
- Preparation of roasted and braised meats
- Grilling and frying foods
- Preparation of hot appetisers, noodles, soups and vegetables
- Preparation of cold dishes
- Supervise kitchen helpers
- Overseeing subordinate personnel in the preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Helping the executive chef or executive sous chef, or the owner in planning menus,
- Determining the size of food portions, estimating food requirements, and
costs and monitoring of the supplies inventory
- Ensuring the quality of food
- Clean kitchen and work area
