Position Description

 

Position: Helper

Number of Positions: 1

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various locations across Lower Mainland, BC

 

Salary & Benefits

 

Wage: $25.00 per hour

Overtime and vacation pay as per employment standards

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Assist tradesmen by supplying tools, equipment, and materials needed for asbestos abatement, mold remediation, and vermiculite insulation removal projects.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from our work sites.
  • Prepare work sites by setting up decontamination units and sealing off affected areas with polyethylene sheeting.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary containment structures, scaffolding, barricades, and warning signage required for safe hazardous material removal projects.
  • Keep the work site clean and safe by removing contaminated debris, rubble, and hazardous waste materials
  • Prepare surfaces for work by cleaning and ensuring they are ready for work.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment by maintaining clear communication with team members and reporting hazards or concerns immediately.
  • Follow tradesmen's instructions to mix, pour, and spread materials accurately.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain and care for construction equipment, cleaning and safely storing it after each work shift.
  • Participate in pre-job safety meetings and team debriefs to discuss project progress, address site hazards, and coordinate upcoming remediation tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the safe and efficient completion of projects.

 

 

Qualification & Requirements

 

  • No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as required on the sites.
  • Strong work ethic with a genuine commitment to workplace safety
