JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work setting: Willing to relocate, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight.

Personal suitability: Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Hardworking.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Sitting

Tasks:

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.

CREDENTIALS

Certificates or licenses: AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement

Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Trips reports.

Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer

Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Security and safety: Driver’s validity license check.

Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs).
