St. Helen's Meat Packers Limited is one of Canada’s largest family-owned and operated federal meat establishments. We are a company focused on servicing local markets with the finest beef, veal, lamb, and poultry products.

Currently, we are looking for Industrial Butchers to join our team. 

 

Main duties:

  • Slaughter and process livestock using approved stunning devices, knives, and specialized cutting equipment in accordance with company and federal standards.

  • Perform cutting and trimming operations to remove viscera, bones, fat, and other inedible or defective parts from carcasses.

  • Clean, split, and trim carcasses into smaller sections or primal and sub-primal cuts to facilitate handling, storage, and further processing.

  • Prepare and portion beef, veal, lamb, poultry, and pork for packaging or additional processing according to specifications.

  • Complete special cutting or trimming orders as required to meet customer or production demands.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area, following all food-safety, health, and occupational-safety regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Secondary school completion preferred.

  • Minimum 7 months of experience in meat processing or related manufacturing, or completion of an industrial meat cutting program, is required.

  • Basic knowledge of meat cutting, trimming, knife handling, or production work required.

  • Experience using hand tools, knives, or cutting equipment is an asset.

  • On-the-job training provided for company standards, safety, and food handling procedures.

  • Physically able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated, fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and food safety standards.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends if needed.
