Heavy Construction Equipment Operator

Job Location:

· Based in Acheson, AB

· The position requires travel to various locations in the Acheson/Edmonton and surrounding areas.

· Travel expenses are covered by the employer for travel outside the Edmonton area.

· Financial assistance for relocation available for out-of-province applicants, per company policy

Wage:

· $34.00 to $38.00/hour (based on skills and experience)

· Salary increases and bonuses based on performance, per company policy

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time, 40 to 70 hours per week (weather dependent), Overtime, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience: 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training

Type of Heavy Equipment Operated: Asphalt Spreader, Paver, Roller, Grader, Compactor, Screed

 

Area of Work: Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction, Road construction, Asphalt finishing, Fine grading and finishing, Rough grading, Sub-grade rolling

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Traffic

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs), Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment

Personal Suitability: Team Player, Accurate

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Duties:

· Operate heavy equipment

· Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks

· Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment

· Secure special attachments to equipment

· Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

· Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment

· Perform minor repairs to equipment

· Monitor safety conditions
