Adlers is an established flooring contractor operating in the construction industry, specializing in Division 9 floor finishes for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential construction projects. We install a wide range of flooring systems and provide services for projects such as retail stores, hospitals, transit facilities, automotive dealerships, and residential high-rises throughout Ontario and across Canada.

We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team.

Job Duties:

• Select suitable projects by obtaining tender documents and stay informed of changes throughout the tendering process.

• Review construction drawings, specifications, tender packages and contract documents to determine the scope of flooring projects.

• Prepare quantity take-offs for materials, labour and equipment by analyzing project drawings and specifications.

• Estimate project costs and prepare detailed quotations for use during the tendering process.

• Estimate material requirements and costs for tile, carpet, vinyl, hardwood, rubber and other flooring finishes.

• Contact suppliers to obtain and analyze pricing for materials required to accurately estimate projects.

• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other project stakeholders during the estimating process to clarify project requirements and ensure the accuracy of quotations.

• Use PlanSwift and other estimating software to prepare quantity take-offs and accurate project estimates.

• Review tender addenda, drawing revisions and changes in project scope and update estimates and quotations as required.

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required.

• Post-secondary diploma or certificate in construction estimating or a related field is required.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in construction estimating is required.

• Experience preparing cost estimates, quantity take-offs, quotations and tender submissions.

• Experience using estimating and quantity take-off software is required; experience with PlanSwift is an asset.

• Previous experience or strong knowledge of the construction industry.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, tender packages and contract documents is required.

• Knowledge of flooring construction and floor finishes is an asset.
