JOB DETAILS - Meat Mixer

• Location: Halifax, NS B3K 4C7
• Salary: 16.75 to 19.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 to 40 hours per Week
• Permanent employment Full time
• Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Weekend
• Starts: as soon as possible

LANGUAGE: English:

EDUCATION: 

• no degree, certificate or diploma
• or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE: 1 year to less than 2 years

WORK SITE ENVIRONMENT:

• Odours
• Noisy
• Hot/Cold
• Wet/damp
• Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
• Feed and unload processing machines
• Clean machines and immediate work areas
• Bag, box or package meat products
• Assist butchers in grinding meats, slicing, shaping, lacing, and tying roasts and other cuts 
• Check products and packaging for basic quality defects
• Perform corrective machine adjustments
• Record production information
• Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines
• Operate multi-function process control machinery and single function machines to process and package meat products using grinding machine, mixing machine stuffer and meat slicer to grind, extract, mix, blend and slice meat
