We are seeking a reliable, patient, and caring Home Child Care Provider to provide attentive care and supervision for children in the employer's home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children, including the care and supervision of twins.
The position is full-time and requires flexibility with morning, daytime, evening, weekend, on-call, and overtime hours when required.
Main Duties
- Supervise and care for children in the employer's home
- Provide attentive care and supervision for twins
- Bathe, dress, feed, and assist children with daily routines
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Prepare meals and perform basic cooking duties
- Take children to and from school, appointments, and activities
- Support children's emotional well-being and social development
- Teach and encourage good personal hygiene and healthy habits
- Discipline children according to the parents' instructions and established household routines
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the children
- Keep records of children's daily activities and relevant health information
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning related to the children and household
- Wash, iron, and press children's clothing and household linens as required
- Assume responsibility for the household when parents are absent
- Accompany the family on trips and assist with child supervision and household duties when required
- Perform other related childcare duties as required
Education
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in childcare or a related caregiving role
- Experience caring for twins is considered an asset
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
- Ability to provide references
- Willingness to travel with the family when required
